Another
year of Open Studios has come to a close, but there is still a chance to enjoy
beautiful art by Open Studios artists!
North
Coast Open Studios is an annual celebration of art and artists in Humboldt
Count. This non-profit, artist-run event provides thousands of visitors a
unique opportunity to meet the artists and catch a glimpse of their creative
processes. The event is funded entirely by artist participation fees and
community support. For 2013, the artists have offered an art-filled way to raise
funds for this event: Support North Coast Open Studios and get a chance to win
and one of three beautiful art pieces!
Glass
artist George Bucquet, silk painter Tina Gleave and serigrapher John Wesa have
all donated pieces for the benefit drawing. George Bucquet donated a hot cast
glass bowl, approximate size is 11.5” diameter, 6.25” tall, valued at $2,000.
Tina Gleave donated a” hand painted silk scarf,
14” x 60”, called “Glorious Hydrangea”; and an emerald green lamb
leather mini tote with hand painted silk marble lining, just the right size for
an iPhone. The two items are valued at $160. John Wesa donated “Redwoods State
and National Park” a framed, limited edition serigraph, approximate framed size
is 16” x 32”, valued at $265.
All
three pieces will be raffled off on Wednesday, June 26th, and the proceeds will
benefit North Coast Open Studios, and help defray the costs of this community
event. Tickets are available until noon on Thursday, June 26th for a $5
donation to North Coast Open Studios (c/o Ink People Center for the Arts).
Tickets can be purchased over the phone by credit card. Winner need not be
present to win. Call (707) 442-8413 for your chance to take one of these
beautiful pieces of art home with you! For more information, contact NCOS
Coordinator Taffy Stockton, by email at contact@northcoastopenstudios.com.
